An initiative of the Shree Shivkrupanand Swami Foundation

Himalayan Samarpan Meditation

गुरु तत्त्व एक निरंतर बहने वाली चैतन्य की नदी का प्रवाह है।

The Guru is a flow: an ever-moving river of consciousness. It flowed yesterday, it flows today, and it will flow tomorrow. Anyone may sit by it. Anyone may drink.

Taught freely, in more than seventy countries. No fee, no technique to master, nothing to buy.

Meditation · साधना

What is Samarpan Meditation?

Samarpan means surrender. It is not a method you perform; it is a sanskar, an inner disposition, received in the presence of a Guru and deepened by sitting every day.

It is not a technique

There is no mantra to repeat, no breath to count, no posture to perfect. You sit, close your eyes, and let go of expectation. The rest is received, not achieved.

Thirty minutes a day

Swamiji asks for one thing: half an hour, every day, without expecting anything from it. Practitioners describe the change arriving quietly, over weeks, in how they meet the rest of the day.

Free, for everyone, everywhere

The practice is shared without charge in more than seventy countries, in thousands of home centres, across every faith and none. Nobody is turned away and nothing is sold.

Begin

Your first thirty minutes

You can begin today, alone, where you are. A centre or a shivir deepens it later.

  1. Choose a quiet half hour

Early morning or evening, the same time each day if you can. Sit comfortably on a chair or the floor. Nothing special is needed.

  2. Close your eyes and let go

Do not try to stop thoughts or to concentrate. Simply be present, with the attention resting gently at the crown of the head, and surrender the half hour.

  3. Expect nothing, return tomorrow

Some days feel still, some do not. Both count. Consistency is the whole practice; the Dhyan app offers a guided sitting if you would like company.

Swamiji

The Himalayan Yogi

H.H. Shree Shivkrupanand Swamiji spent sixteen years with the Gurus of the Himalayas. What he received there he came back to share, freely, with anyone who would sit.

He describes himself as a man who did not read books: the knowledge he passes on is lived, not studied. He asked to be given four things to do in the world, among them that women be honoured, that the young grow into a conscience of their own, and that places be built where this meditation stays available for centuries.

मैंने पुस्तकें नहीं पढ़ी है। जो सजीव अनुभूति का ज्ञान मुझे मेरे गुरुओं से मिला, वही लोगों तक निःशुल्क बाँट रहा हूँ।
